Worst Nightmare

Everyone has a worst nightmare like giant wasps or falling of a cliff, but not many peoples worst nightmare come true; but for this egg, it did.

Humpty Dumpty was not the most outstanding wall tester in town but at least he did his job. Every day he would go off to his office and wait for a call, then every day he would go to the place and sit on the wall and every day the wall would shake and he would cross it or it would stand and he would tick it. But every night before he got into bed that same scary thought would just creep into his head “what if I fall”? This always sent a shiver down Humpty’s particularly yolky spine, for an egg to fall off a wall would mean a crack, which, for eggs is death! Humpty settled down to sleep and each night would dream then it would all start again the next morning when he woke up.

But one day it all changed. Humpty got out of bed, went to his office, got a call and went to the house. When Humpty saw the fence he got a bad feeling but then he told himself that it was his job, so he got on the fence and moved about like usual. “Well” he said to himself as he sat there “seems solid enough” but just as he bent over to tick the fence, it moved and humpty fell.
